Why Make Your Own CBD Vape Juice?
I remember I was asking, can I smoke weed after surgery? Ultimately, this is something that you need to ask your doctor; however, there are a few reasons why you might be interested in making your own vape juice at home.
They include:
- You have total control over your flavor.
- You control the strength of your CBD vape juice.
- You decide what terpenes go in your juice, which can impact the effects.
It will take some practice to create a solid vape juice for yourself, but you might even save money if you can make it in bulk.
The Ratio Between Vegetable Glycerin and Propylene Glycol Is Key
Two of the most common substance is found in Vape juice include vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol. They are common carrier oils, but they have some differences.
Propylene glycol is not nearly as thick as vegetable glycerin, so it is easier to work with propylene glycol; however, propylene glycol is also harsher on the lungs than vegetable glycerin.
On the other hand, it does not dissolve as easily as propylene glycol, so you need more propylene glycol if you want your isolate to dissolve in your CBD vape juice. Aim for a ratio of 70:30 propylene glycol to vegetable glycerin.

- Fill the mixing container with the juice made above, add your CBD powder, close the cap, and shake it.
- Take a saucepan and fill it with enough water to cover the container. Add the mixing container to the water and heat it in a saucepan on medium heat.
- When the water is close to boiling, turn the heat down to low.
- After five minutes, use tongs to remove the mixing container and shake the container for a few minutes.
- Repeat the steps above until the CBD crystals are totally dissolved.
- Allow the vape juice to cool for a half-hour before transferring it to the glass storage container.
It might take you a few tries to get the desired CBD vape juice, but once you have the process down, you will have total control over the CBD vape juice you use.
Why Are Terpenes Necessary?
You might be wondering why you need to add terpenes to the mixture above. Even though terpenes are responsible for the smell of plants, they do so much more than that! Different terpenes are responsible for the way your body responds to your CBD vape juice. Terpenes play a role in the entourage effect, which is what happens when several cannabinoids work together to exert their effects on your body.
Some terpenes might be more effective at pain relief than others, so if you are looking for pain relief after surgery, you should choose your terpenes carefully! I remember that I played around with my terpene mixture a bit until I figured out exactly what worked well for my pain relief. They can work wonders for you as well!
