Binged your favorite streaming shows and movies after months in quarantine?
Light one up and relive some 80’s childhood pop-culture classics.
Grab your weed pipes and settle in for a blast from the past. This list of childhood movies comes straight from our stoner buddies at Atomic Blaze Smokeshop. We asked our friends which movies they love to watch over and over again while smoking glass bowls full of gnarly nugs and this is what we collectively came up with to keep us entertained as we wait for our weed box subscription to arrive.
License to Drive
License to Drive (1988) – IMDb
Who doesn’t love an 80s movie with the two Coreys in it? Feldman and Heim starred in this teen comedy about learning to operate a vehicle. You’ll find it even funnier now while poking through your stoner subscription box and remembering when you first had to parallel park. Instead roll a joint and put License to Drive on the list of classics to catch up on.
Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead
Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead (1991) – IMDb
Christina Applegate was a bad ass rebel turned responsible in this fun movie about killing your babysitter while mom’s away. “The dishes are done, man!” Put this movie on next time you get your monthly weed box in the mail. Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead is a classic stoner movie we all loved as kids.
Legend
Legend stars Tim Curry as the personification of evil while Tom Cruise saves daylight amid goblins, fairies, and unicorns. This story is straight out of someone’s fever dream full of completely outlandish creatures and some of our favorite actors while they were still young and goofy looking. Not that Tom Cruise got any better (hehe). All you need is some bud, a pipe for weed and call it a night in!
Lost Boys
This vampire cult classic from the 80s is the perfect movie to watch stoned and reminisce about how when we were young, our vampires didn’t sparkle. Break out the weed box and pack a bowl for smoking along to a great soundtrack and a young Keefer Southerland. Lost Boys is perfect for watching while enjoying a stoner subscription box.
Clash of the Titans
Clash of the Titans (1981) – IMDb
Get yourself a weed subscription box and throw the original 1981 version of Clash of the Titans in the queue for a trip down memory lane. That owl was a hoot back then and after a couple dabs once this movie starts you’ll be cracking up at how cool this movie seemed as a kid.
The Goonies
“Heeeyy yooouuu guuuyys!” The Goonies is funny all the time but watch this while unpacking and enjoying your subscription box for stoners and you’ll feel like a kid again. There’s nothing like getting a new bowl for weed in the mail and watching a childhood favorite.
Fantasia
Walt Disney may have been tripping when he came up with this masterpiece, and its magnificence was lost on many of us as children. If you haven’t made Fantasia a staple in your weed smokers kit, then do it today. Dancing hippopotamus ballerinas, creepy baby flowers, and a couple packed glass smoking bowls? Umm, yes, please!
Ghostbusters
A weed box subscription isn’t complete without a movie picked out to watch with it, so of course Ghostbusters makes the list. It’s got Dan Akroyd, Segourney Weaver, and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man! Get some marshmallows for the munchies and twist up a joint for the original ghost adventure.
Pee Wee’s Big Adventure
Pee-wee’s Big Adventure (1985) – IMDb
PeeWee Herman made us laugh as kids and his movies continue to entertain the kid at heart. It’s hard to forget the movie theater mishap that put PeeWee out of the playhouse, but since we’re stoners and like to laugh, it really only adds to his charm. Your stoner box subscription adventure is waiting, and maybe tequila!.
Summer School
Some of us were too young to realize why the students in Summer School were having such a good time spending their vacation retaking remedial English. As adults with personal weed boxes and our very own stoner subscription boxes, now we know why those kids were always giggling. This stoner comedy is better now that we can reminisce about toking behind the auditorium and getting detention.
Time Bandits
Potentially joining a band of time traveling dwarves was a nightmarish fantasy for some kids watching Time Bandits, but now we realize as adults time has passed in a linear fashion, and this movie is worth adding to your weed smoker kit.
E.T.
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) – IMDb
Special effects have come a long way since E.T., but if you live in a day with access to a stoner box subscription it might be time to revisit this childhood classic. It’s got Drew Barrymore when she was cute as a button, aliens, and Reeses Pieces. Have some peanut butter cups handy when you pop this one in. Make sure you take a couple pulls from the vape or even break out the starter dab bundle before watching some 80’s special effects!
Gremlins
Gremlins terrified some of us as young kids, but as adults we laugh at some of the goofy scenes that used to make us scream. We all have that one stoner friend we can’t feed after midnight and who acts like a stoner gremlin when the weed subscription boxes arrive. Load up on snacks and get ready for Gremlins to keep you up all night.
The Last Unicorn
The Last Unicorn (1982) – IMDb
Classic animated films capture artistry in a way no modern computer generated animation comes close. Plus, the visuals in The Last Unicorn make us think the creators were stoners like us. Pack that glass bowl for smoking with some top notch herb and get lit watching a visual masterpiece.
Flash Gordon
Maybe Flash Gordon was written for potheads by potheads, because watching it stoned is way funnier than it was as a kid. Make sure your pipe for weed is packed and watch Flash pack in the punches.
The Never Ending Story
The NeverEnding Story (1984) – IMDb
This movie will go down in history as one of the weirdest films of all time. That giant dog! Engywook! Atreyu! It will have your imagination on high while you enjoy your weed smoker’s monthly gift box.
Don’t waste another minute rewatching the same boring netflix list. Add these classics to your line up and order a smoking box subscription to make each movie night more memorable.
