Eric Postow is an attorney with Parlatore Law Group where he supports clients in the cannabis industry with corporate law, compliance, licensing, litigation, strategy, and business development. Eric is licensed to practice law in Virginia, and he represents clients in federal court nationwide. He is currently focusing on helping cannabis entrepreneurs prepare for Virginia’s legal adult use recreational market in 2024.
Prior to practicing law, Eric was a Marine Corps officer for seven years.
Eric is a member of the NAACP, the International Cannabis Bar Association, The Association of Certified Commercial Cannabis Experts, and the Virginia State Bar.
We talk to Eric about the laws in Virginia for cannabis legalization and get his thoughts on how it’ll shake up in the future.
We also talk with Mr. Postow about his infamous case where he is defending the right to sell marijuana under a legal state license. Apparently the Feds still think this is the 1980’s and are trying to impose a mandatory 10 year sentence on Lucas Siriois, 41, of Farmington, Maine. He is one of 13 people facing charges including a police officer and prosecutor in western Maine, the manager of Oxford County and several relatives of Sirios.
Sirois is charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, conspiracy to commit money laundering, conspiracy to commit honest services fraud, conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the U.S. and tax evasion.
If convicted, Sirois faces between 10 years and life in prison on the drug distribution charge alone.
Eric Postow says that his client was just following state laws and is innocent of all charges.
