Cannabis legislation is always controversial. 🧨 Some like it, some hate it and you definitely can’t please all of the people all of the time. Someone always wins and Someone always loses. This bill introduces by Kamala Harris is: A bill to decriminalize and deschedule cannabis, to provide for reinvestment📈 in certain persons adversely impacted by the War on Drugs, to provide for expungement of certain cannabis offenses, and for other purposes. But, it also add a 5% tax💰 on all cannabis purchases. It taxes the manufacturer which then trickles down to the consumer.
Todd and @edibledee discuss the over taxing of cannabis in this country. Already some states have up to a 40% tax🧐 on manufacturing and selling cannabis products. The local governments also do not allow for any kind of tax right offs when it’s related to sales. This is not a sustainable way to go because most patients who need a large quantity of cannabis during the day simply can’t afford it. 💳 What’s right? What’s wrong?
