If you are in Amsterdam, Haribo’s Coke flavored gummy candy could have more kick than you’re expecting. After reports of people feeling effects, Haribo has found a batch of cannabis infused gummies that they are now recalling.
Haribo is looking into how Happy Cola F!ZZ gummies became infused with cannabis after several customers reportedly fell “ill” with marijuana effects in the Netherlands.
Haribo has issued a nationwide recall in Amsterdam.
Haribo’s Happy Cola F!ZZ gummies somehow became infused with marijuana.
Customers who ate the Haribo Happy Cola F!ZZ gummies, including a family with multiple members who had effects from the candy, said they felt “dizziness” after eating the gummies, according to the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA).
“Samples were taken and cannabis was found in them,” the agency told Dutch outlet Hart van Nederland.
“Do not eat the sweets,” the NVWA warned.
“Only one batch of Happy Cola F!ZZ gummies in the Netherlands is suspected of infusion — this is ONLY in Amsterdam, no batches in the United States or anywhere else,” Haribo said.
Haribo has said it is working with police to investigate the infusion, the NVWA found at least three packs infused with cannabis.
Haribo is pulling all of the batch in the Netherlands as a precaution. They are removing all packages with a best-before date of January 2026 from the stores.
Haribo will also be giving full refunds for all returned packages.
“The safety of our consumers is our highest priority and Haribo takes this incident very seriously, which is why a recall has been issued in the Netherlands,” the company said in a statement.
It is unclear how many people became sick or had effects due to the infused batch of gummies. Officials noted that no other Haribo candies have been affected by cannabis infusion.
