Trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle in this day and age can be quite a task. Between picking out healthy foods to eat, engaging in the right activities to keep you fit, avoiding harmful substances, and getting enough rest, it can almost seem like a full time job for some. Toss in recreational substances into the mix like cannabis and you have even more work cut out for you.
However it’s not all doom and gloom when it comes to enjoying your weed. Whether you use a vaporizer pen or a dab rig, vaping is now considered to be significantly healthier than smoking your weed “straight up.” This holds true for both vaporizers that use concentrates as well as for those that use actual cannabis plant matter. So, how exactly is vaping cannabis healthier than smoking it?

Along with reducing carcinogen intake/production, vaping weed doesn’t allow for oxygen saturation. Vaporizers contain no carbon monoxide which can have significant effects on your respiratory system due to how carbon monoxide binds quickly to red blood cells, allowing carbon monoxide to take the place of oxygen on the cells and is rapidly distributed throughout your bloodstream. Since vapes actually vaporize the product instead of burning it, they pose little risk for carbon monoxide poisoning. Also, vape pens are safer to use than a dab rig when it comes to this as aspects of dabbing still requires burning cannabis wax which does produce fumes that can be toxic.

While more research is still needed to understand the full benefits and disadvantages of vaporizing weed, all signs point to it being a healthier alternative to smoking your herb. Do you prefer vaping your weed over smoking it?
