It’s no secret that Morgan Freeman loves marijuana. But what is a secret is how he uses it to help his everyday life. In a new interview with The Daily Beast, the famous actor explains why the plant is such an important part of his routine and why is completely in favor of legalizing cannabis.
Freeman explained that his first wife got him into marijuana “many years ago,” and that when it comes to using it, he says, “However it comes! I’ll eat it, drink it, smoke it, snort it!”
As for how the Academy Award winner feels about legalization, Freeman said that the “movement is really a long time coming, and it’s getting legs—longer legs. They’re talking about kids who have grand mal seizures, and they’ve discovered that marijuana eases that down to where these children can have a life. That right there, to me, says, ‘Legalize it across the board!’ And what negative effects does it have? Look at Woodstock 1969. They said, ‘We’re not going to bother them or say anything about smoking marijuana,’ and not one problem or fight.”
The 77-year-old is now a medical marijuana patient after being in a car accident seven years ago that left him with nerve damage in his left hand. During the interview with The Daily Beast, he pointed to the glove and said, “Marijuana has many useful uses. I have fibromyalgia pain in this arm, and the only thing that offers any relief is marijuana.”
