Marijuana is mainstream in America. With over 64% of Americans supporting its legalization, weed has become a staple in our culture. Cannabis use is rising across all generations, from college kids switching beer bongs for water bongs to seniors dabbing away arthritis pain. Years ago, marijuana users were labeled as criminals and drug addicts. That ship has sailed. We’re from all walks of life and not going back underground.

Lazy

The movies want you to believe pot smokers resemble Cheech and Chong or Harold and Kumar, but that’s not the case. We’re not lazy. Stoners are people who enjoy a high life full of goals and dreams. Some prefer to relax and chill out with a movie or their favorite video game, while others hit their bubblers while they cook dinner for their families or clean up around the house. You don’t have to be an active partaker in marijuana culture to enjoy the weed lifestyle. However, you might not want to mix amoxicillin and weed.

Notable cannabis users, past and present, include,

  1. Former President Barack Obama
  2. Elon Musk
  3. Joe Rogan
  4. Ricky Williams
  5. Jennifer Aniston
  6. Michael Phelps
  7. Seth Rogen

This is a small part of a long list of successful pot smokers.

Unsuccessful

There are no statistics to support this claim, yet it’s still widely believed. Stoners may have a reputation for being the epitome of the unsuccessful individual, but that’s completely false. Yes, some marijuana users are unemployed, but they’re not the majority.

The proof of successful pot smokers is everywhere. You laugh at Cheech and Chong, but the duo is far from broke or unsuccessful. The two comedians made a living for over 30 years as stoner icons. Cheech Marin has a net worth estimated at around $30 million, and Tommy Chong is doing well with a net worth of $20 million.

Another excellent example is Snoop Dogg. The well-known long-term stoner is famous for his weed-smoking lifestyle, but he’s also highly successful. The self-made millionaire is worth $150 million and is one of the 30 wealthiest rappers globally.

Uneducated

This incorrect belief stems from the long-held belief that cannabis kills brain cells. The only cells we know the potent plant can kill are cancer cells, and I’m okay with that! Did you know that cannabis can stimulate brain growth? Of course, we’re still learning about weed and various body functions. So, scientists are working on the answer to “can I smoke weed while on medication?

While it’s probably not suitable for growing brains to use recreationally, there’s little proof it’s detrimental to teenagers’ future. Many people that smoke cannabis have been consuming the potent flowers for many years and haven’t lost a skip in their step.

Today’s growing acceptance of marijuana and its use is proof that we’re far from uneducated. Also, it’s an industry on its own right now with a place on the stock market, and the flowers are creating tons of jobs.

New education programs are popping up everywhere to teach students about marijuana as a viable career choice. Different educational paths can help you answer, “can you smoke weed on antibiotics” or whether it’s safe to take a few hits with your CBD gummies before bed. My former college is one of several offering degrees in cannabis cultivation.

We’re not lazy stoners who are unemployed or uneducated. There’s more proof that we’re successful than you think because many well-known pot smokers like Michael Phelps, Elon Musk, Jennifer Aniston, and Seth Rogen! Let’s do something about these old stereotypes so people can understand how much weed has changed since Cheech Marin & Tommy Chong were driving around smoking giant joints in the movies.
