Willie Nelson Releases New Album And Weed Strain
Happy birthday, Willie! Music legend and marijuana culture icon, Willie Nelson just turned 85 this past week and shows no signs of slowing down when it comes to his love for his art and for weed. The prolific singer and song writer recently released his 67th album, titled ‘Last Man Standing,’ along with it a brand new strain of marijuana! Also named Last Man Standing, the new strain is being made available wherever legal in the U.S. via his cannabis product company, Willie’s Reserve. Launched in 2015 Willie’s Reserve is his branded one stop shop for all of your cannabis needs, all approved by the legend himself.

In 2015, a few years after the American weed legalization movement began, Nelson established Willieโs Reserve, a self-branded company designed to sell paraphernalia, edibles and, of course, weed, in permitting states. While โLast Man Standingโ is the fourth album to release since Willieโs Reserve was started, it will be the first to get its own strain.
Also named โLast Man Standing,โ the strain was created by Shane and Amelia Osburn of Sol Grow Mendocino, a medical dispensary in Mendocino, California. โIt comes from this huge plant with beautiful buds,โ Shane Osburn told Taste of Country. โItโs so expressive of its characteristics. When you walk past the plant it smells like an orange tree.โ
โWillie is a soldier for the cannabis community,โ said Amelia Osburn. โWe have total respect for how heโs told the world about what we do, through his music and through who he isโฆ. Weโve come pretty damn far from the point where theyโd put you in prison for life for a seed to where we are now. Itโs a lot of progress.โ
