With Thanksgiving coming up tomorrow, most Americans are excitedly getting ready to feast on turkey and the many other dishes that have become staples of the holiday like pumpkin pie, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes with gravy, along with numerous others. While many folks are looking forward to spending time with family and friends Thanksgiving does have a reputation for being a bit stressful at times. This psychedelic recipe is perfect for enthusiasts that are looking for a more relaxing experience during the usually busy holiday season. This one accounts for a decent sized bird so you will have plenty to share with friends!
Turkey ingredients:
12 lb turkey
½ cup cannabutter for the turkey rub
Salt and pepper
1 ½ teaspoon of baking powder (optional)
1/4 oz. decarbed cannabis flower
3 tablespoons cannabutter
⅔ cup chicken stock
⅓ cup maple syrup
3 Tbsp lemon juice
3 cloves of diced garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
Tools:
Sauce pan
Roasting pan
Cooking gloves
Food syringe
Process:
To get started, first combine the chicken stock, cannabutter, lemon juice, cannabis flower, maple syrup, garlic, salt, and pepper and heat in a saucepan on low for about 15 minutes. Once done, remove the mix from heat and set it aside to let it cool for the time being while you get to work on the bird itself.
Next, use a gloved hand to loosen the skin from the body of the turkey and give your bird a relaxing massage using the cannabutter, salt, and pepper. Make sure that you cover the whole turkey and get into all of the nooks and crannies as well as under the skin you just loosened in order to maximize flavor and effects. At this point you can optionally rub the baking powder over the turkey to ensure that a nice golden brown skin will develop while cooking. Once the marinade has cooled down to room temperature, begin injecting it throughout the bird in as equal amounts as possible.
